Select

A review for a defined scope

Record the contractor, services, location, exclusions and selection criteria. Keep client and contractor responsibilities clear, with a named owner and a different independent reviewer.

Verify

Every compulsory qualification

Add several qualifications for each worker where required. Record the scheme, level, role, requirement source, evidence reference and dates. Each compulsory row is checked separately.

Coordinate

An engagement tied to the work

Link the exact approved RAMS, JSA or SWMS revisions. Retain induction, supervision, interfaces, local permissions and handback records alongside the engagement.

What is Sentinel Contractor management?

It is a set of contractor review and work-engagement records within the selected company assessment. It helps authorised users record what was checked, who made the decision and which scope and evidence that decision covered.

Use evidence checks for matters such as insurance, competence, induction, equipment and subcontracting. Record findings, the source, date checked and expiry or recheck date. Raise linked actions or an NCR when a finding needs follow-up.

A saved approval is a decision about the recorded scope. It does not issue a permit, grant site access, verify a certificate with its issuer or replace competent assessment of the actual work.

From selection to handback

  1. Prepare the contractor review. Save responsibilities, complete the evidence checks and resolve linked preparatory actions.
  2. Obtain independent approval. The owner submits; the different named reviewer records the decision. Submitted evidence and scope cannot be silently rewritten.
  3. Prepare the engagement. Define the job and dates, link current approved work plans, record local arrangements and add the worker qualifications required.
  4. Check readiness. Compulsory qualifications, contractor review, work plans and linked actions must meet the approval and start requirements.
  5. Start and monitor. After approval, the owner records readiness and starts the engagement on or after its planned start date. Record suspension if affected work must stop.
  6. Hand back and close. The independent reviewer records performance, handback, lessons and the closure reason. Retain the record for later reference.

Multiple qualifications, without losing sight of a missing one

Select Add worker qualification for every worker and qualification needed. A role might require a specified CSCS card, a well control qualification or another scheme, licence or authorisation. The applicable requirements come from the actual role, task, site and client arrangements.

Mark mandatory rows Compulsory. All compulsory rows must be Verified before submission; an expired or unverified compulsory row prevents approval and start. One current record does not override another missing requirement.

Connected to the rest of the suite

Link engagement planning to RAMS / JSA / SWMS, follow up findings through shared actions, and raise a linked NCR where appropriate. The shared work queue helps users find supported outstanding work in the selected assessment.

When a prerequisite later expires, is suspended or is superseded, Review required draws attention to the affected record. It does not silently alter the earlier approval or automatically send an email. Review the effect on work and apply your local controls.

Open the module and practise

Common questions

Is this a supplier portal or a company-wide personnel database?

No. These records belong to the selected assessment. This release does not invite external contractors or give them access to your company workspace.

Does Verified mean Sentinel checked the card with the issuer?

No. An authorised person records the verification method and findings. Sentinel checks the recorded status and dates; it does not authenticate qualifications against an external issuer database.

How do we change approved work?

Prepare a new contractor review revision when the reviewed scope changes. It starts as a Draft with decisions and evidence results cleared. Approve the successor before superseding the earlier review. Create a new engagement for changed approved work scope.

Can an older desktop edit these records?

Use the web workspace or the matched Contractor-compatible Desktop 2.1.5 RC1 supplied by your administrator. Earlier desktop clients do not support Contractor workspaces. Back up your local workspace before changing desktop versions.
