SAFETYMAN SENTINEL · CONTRACTOR MANAGEMENT
Two compulsory qualifications.
Two separate checks.
Practise adding multiple qualifications for one fictional worker and demonstrate why one valid record cannot cover a second missing requirement.

Software exercise only. Alex Example and all references are fictional. The CSCS and well control pairing below tests multiple rows; it does not establish which qualifications a real role requires. Never use invented evidence for operational approval.
Set up the exercise
Use a separate training assessment with a Draft engagement, saved owner and independent reviewer, a current approved contractor review and an approved work plan. Establish the qualification requirements before adding records.
| Field | Qualification row 1 | Qualification row 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Holder | Alex Example | Alex Example |
| Scheme | CSCS | Well control |
| Requirement | Compulsory | Compulsory |
| Category, level and role | Enter a clearly labelled fictional exercise requirement. | Enter a separate clearly labelled fictional exercise requirement. |
| Evidence reference | TRAINING-CARD-001 | TRAINING-WELL-001 |
| Verification | Record the fictional issuer, method, findings and dates. | Record this certificate’s own issuer, method, findings and dates. |
Select Add worker qualification again for further qualifications or workers. Use Other when the required scheme is not listed. An Additional row does not override a Compulsory requirement.
Test A: leave one requirement unchecked
- Complete and mark the first compulsory row Verified.
- Leave the second row Not checked and save.
- Attempt to submit the engagement as its owner.
- Confirm that submission is prevented. Find the outstanding row and explain why the first record is insufficient.
Test B: use expired fictional evidence
- Complete the second row with a deliberately expired valid-until date and a fictional verification finding.
- Submit the saved engagement if permitted by its other requirements.
- Ask the independent reviewer to attempt approval.
- Confirm that expired compulsory evidence prevents approval.
- Return the engagement to Draft with a reason before correcting the evidence. Retain the reason for the correction.
Test C: correct, save and review
- As the owner, enter current fictional evidence and appropriate dates for both rows.
- Save the prerequisite records, then submit again.
- As the different reviewer, inspect both rows and the remaining readiness evidence.
- Record the training decision only when all requirements are met.
What does Verified actually tell us?
It tells us that an authorised user recorded a verification decision and its supporting details. Sentinel does not check CSCS or well control records directly with issuing organisations. The person checking real evidence must establish the correct holder, authenticity, level, scope and validity using an appropriate method.
What happens if a qualification expires later?
The affected engagement is flagged Review required when its current readiness is assessed. Earlier decisions remain in the history. Assess the effect on work, apply local restrictions and record suspension where needed. There is no automatic email alert in this release.
